Heh ladies!
I need some help. The new signature tea has just arrived (Oklahoma Prairie Blend) and it is yummy, but they sent a whole bunch of samples with it for me to try and also start carrying on the website. I'm high as a kite from caffeine from trying them all, but I have narrowed my list down to 7 that I have to reduce to 3. They are fantastic as hot tea, but can be used for iced as well. Is there anything on this list that sounds wonderful to you? I sure would like to hear your opinions. Oh, and the Oklahoma Prairie Blend is a black tea flavored with Strawberry, Mango, Kiwi and Raspberry and decorated with Cornflower and Marigold petals. It's light and wonderful. Here are the other choices I've narrowed down:
These are all black teas too.

French Creme Brulee
Peach Strawberry
Peach Brandy
Peach Rum Cake
Strawberry Papaya
Candy Cane
Chocolate Macadamia Cocunut Creme

Thanks, Nini. It really was a blessing in my day. One of the packagers had traveled all over the world just for the fun of it and had such stories! Today was a good day! :-) I'm putting the teas online late tonight. Just finished taking pictures. And it turned really cold here, just right for hot tea!

Mary Beth, that must have been such great fun - getting to go behind-the-scenes and enjoying a little hands-on experience! You must have just loved getting to know the people that will package your wonderful teas, too! 'Sounds like you made a couple of really nice friends in the process! Unexpected surprises like that are the best blessings! I'm so happy you shared it with us, too! :) - Nini

To all who helped me out so much choosing tea blends, just had to tell you about my day. I went to a local seasoning company that packages for small businesses, thinking that we were going to have a meeting about how to package the teas. I took the teas, the tins and the bags to show them what I wanted. I figured that it would take maybe a half hour and that I would leave my things and come back in a few days when they were finished. I visited with the owner and she introduced me to two of the packagers. They took me back to the hand packaging part of the facility, tore open a bag of tea and measured it out to see if that was to my liking. They told me to grab a hairnet in a wide range of colors! Of course I chose Oklahoma Pastry Cloth Company red!! :-) So there I stood for two hours with these two lovely, lovely people, laughing, sharing stories and packing tea. It's all in the bags and now going into the tins. Getting it up on the website tonight. Oh yeah. And the best part was watching them drink in the aroma of the teas as we packed. They said that it beat chili seasoning all to smithereens!! I gave each of them a bag of tea of their choice. What a fun day it has been!

Well, I really mucked it up. I SAID that I was limiting my first order to 5 teas to put on the website and had it all planned out. Then tonight, I saw one of the samples the company sent that looked interesting - Apricot Orchard. I decided to try it with no intention of including it on the list. Oh my. That is the smoothest, lightest most wonderful tea. I guess I'll have to include it too. :-)

Yummmm...Candy Cane sounds delicious. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of vanilla or peach flvored drinks. I know, weird!

The Chocolate Macadamia Cocunut Creme sounds interesting too. If it were coffee, I'd be slurping that one down by the cupfulls!

Peach Brandy and Peach Rum Cake are my choices. Do you have any Pumpkin blends? I saw it somewhere but don't recall where. Sounds like it would be yummy!

I had a cup of candy cane this afternoon. It is very light and you aren't quite sure that the taste is there and then all of a sudden, you breath in and it's cool and pepperminty. It's kind of nice.

I'd choose creme brulee and candy cane as well! But I think peach brandy or rum cake might be good too. :) I have found I'm never happy with any macadamia I have tasted (besides the nut itself).

Creme Brulee, Peach Brandy and Peach Rum Cake all sound good to me.

Thank you all sooooo much! I guess I'm closing the votes because I have to order. I have decided that besides my Oklahoma Prairie Blend, I will be ordering French Creme Brulee, Candy Cane, Peach Strawberry, English Breakfast and either Strawberry Papaya or Chocolate Macadamia (gonna put those names in a hat and draw out the winner). I appreciate your input and your helping me make a decision. There are tons of other flavors, but this is what I am going to start with to see how it goes. If you voted, email me from the contact button at the website and tell me which one you'd like to try, as well as your Name, Farmgirl name and address, I'll send you a sample as soon as it all gets here.

I'd choose the creme brule. As much as I adore fresh peaches, I've never tasted a peach tea that I really enjoyed, but if these really are better than most, the peach strawberry might be a nice spring morning tea.

My vote is French creme brulee (I love the real stuff), Peach Strawberry and Strawberry Papaya. They all sound delicious.

Nini, you are so right! And I have gotten two girlfriends in on the taste testing. I know what you mean about the sweets craving. Each time I sit down to try another kind of tea, I decided that I either have to have a scone or a piece of one of the chocolates that I carry (they are made by the Chickasaw Nation here!). This whole project is NOT good for the waistline. :-)

Jenny, thanks for your input.

Hi Mary Beth! Oh, my - after reading the list, I am so hankering for something sweet! LOL! I like the sound of Peach Rum Cake, Candy Cane and Peach Strawberry... I also like the sound of Chocolate Macadamia Cocunut Creme, but that sounds more like a fancy coffee to me than a tea! :) Good luck choosing - 'sounds like a great reason to call the girlfriends over! :) - Nini

Grace, you are so right on that aftertaste thing. I have had a boatload of tea companies that blend, send me the blends that I wanted to try and they were awful. They had a bitter aftertaste and the fruits were just not right. I finally found this company that doesn't blend, but flavors and that made all the difference in the world. Very smooth and tasty. That's why I'm having such a time deciding on which ones to start with!! And thanks for each of you for taking the time to give me your preferences. So far, French Creme Brulee and Candy Cane are the top two.

Probably candy cane then strawberry papaya.

Do what you love, love what you do.
grace gerber Posted - Nov 11 2010 : 4:10:38 PM
They all sound tasty but I would say:

Creme Brulee and then the Candy Cane. The Peach teas sound interesting but I must say I would have to taste them because some Peach teas have a nasty after taste.

Thanks for lettings us vote, great to be included.

Peppermint anything for me, so the Candy Cane sounds good. Then the French Creme. Then maybe Strawberry Papaya.

Karla, it seems that French Creme Brulee is a winner here so far!

Jonni, I love English breakfast too and that is one of the loose teas that I will be handling, but I wanted to add some flavored ones as well. I will have to say that MY favorite of the whole bunch is the Oklahoma Prairie Blend because it doesn't lose its black teaness and is just lightly flavored. With vanilla cream and a little bit of stevia, I could drink it all day. :-)

I'm going to say the only one on that list (that I would pick) would be the French Creme Brulee...simply because I love black teas, and my choice for black teas run along the lines of Earl Grey, English Breakfast and Irish Breakfast...something that might replace coffee for me, for example. Fruits don't = black teas to me :)
