I just wanted to share with folks who know how hard this was: I passed my test and am now a certified master food preserver! I tried to share with my DH but all he said was "that's nice"....LOL

Wow! That's wonderful! Will you share this with classes in your area?

Hi Angie, it is so good to hear from you! I hope you can pick up the rest of the classes....I'm sending prayers your way cause I know you have really had some tough stuff come your way lately. Please let me know if I can help you with anything. Were you able to pick up your jars that you preserved in the class?

Starletta, that's so inspiring! I've wanted to learn how to can for so long. It is a bit intimidating. I got all the water bath stuff this summer & was supposed to have learned how to do it with my mom when she came into town to visit. However, after sterilizing the jars, etc, my mom said she taught me how to make *freezer* jam (lol). I was going to can pickles, but bought the wrong type of cuke... so, alas, I still need to learn. Congratulations on your accomplishment --that is fantastic!!

Thank you, everyone...I knew you all would understand LOL! I received it through one of our county extension offices--it wasn't offered in my area but was about 70 miles away. I have to say it was entirely worth the cost and the time. I feel so much more confident about preserving now especially with the pressure canner which I was totally afraid of before.

Bowing down to you Star! That is quite an accomplishment. Sometimes our DH's just don't get it...but your farmgirl sisters do!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Now after that rousing applause and cheering.... How did you get it? School? Classes? Online Testing?? Just curious.

Do what you love, love what you do.

Woo Hoo!!!! I've wanted to do that for a long time, but the nearest offering is 50 miles away, and a 100 mile round trip for the time necessary just doesn't work right now. Congratulations!!!!
