Well, I made my first Pumpkin Pie totally from scratch today, followed MaryJane's recipe in the Oct/Nov issue of the MJF Magazine right down to the whipped cream. I feel ashamed to admit (at 51 years of age) that I have never baked a pumpkin before or made roasted pumpkin seeds, I did both today. I have made what I "considered" homemade Pumpkin Pie in the past in that I used plain canned pumpkin instead of the pumpkin pie mix. LOL!! I gotta admit, it was more work than I thought it would be but WOW!!! what an awesome pie!! DH tasted it before me, I always serve him first just in case (LOL!!), and he said "Oh wow, this is sooo much better!" He was RIGHT!! To anyone who has never gone to all the trouble, I highly recommend it, you will not believe how much better it is!!

It is isn't it! Having a good pumpkin and the right recipe makes all the difference. I don't think I could enjoy a canned pumpkin pie after having such a good fresh one.
