Hey you guys!
My mom and I are going to participate in a local church bazaar again this year - last year I did it, and sold a variety of (mostly wild) jams and jellies, and jarred sourdough starter.
This year I don't have as many jams/jellies from wild fruit - not a great chokecherry year here, and haven't picked buffaloberry yet until after the first frost. So I'm thinking about other ideas...
Jarred/canned pie filling - like rhubarb/raspberry pie... green tomato pie... ??
I can't sell "ready to eat" foods - the church itself is selling small packages of yummies - but I can if it's in gift packaging. I was thinking to make gift baskets of a jar of jam (their choice), a gingham sack of homemade whole wheat crackers (yummy!), ???
Our table will be, in blatant plagiarism, "The Farmgirl Kitchen"... so that's our angle. I'm thinking I might have some of my MJF magazines there, although I'd have to crack bones if someone tried to walk off with one!! grin...

I have a recipe for chocolate cake in a mug that I made for Christmas gifts last year that went over well. |

I third the idea for the recipes in a jar. You could do cookie and brownie mixes and also some layered soup mixes. They are always so attractive and sell really well.

Hot pepper jelly packaged with the crackers, and have a sample plate out for people to try.

Peanut brittle is a messy lot of fun to make, is guaranteed to clog your arteries and it sells well. =)

I was thinking the recipes in a jar too! I'm about to make a ton of them as party favors for my sons first birthday party. They seem to be simple and fun to make. Not to mention who doesn't love baking when most of the ingredients are premeasured!

What about recipes in a jar? Just dry ingredients for cookies, brownies, quickbreads, etc. You can also bake cakes in canning jars - check the Mother Earth News website for the how to.
