Over Memorial Day I had family dropping in throughout the day, so I decided to make the pound cake from the latest MJF magazine - complete with candied almonds and sweetened whipped cream to serve it with - and a big "vat" (ok, large pitcher) of lemonade with lemon slices in it to serve people - figuring that it would be something that I could get ready in a minute and that could be fresh throughout the day and not spoil. Well, I just have to say, if I do say so myself, that the cake recipe is DELICIOUS! It even received rave reviews from a very picky grandmother - and neighbor, too. It has just the perfect amount of sweetness. If you're looking for a good pound cake - this is the one! I think it's the almonds...

XOXO, Libbie

I always look for the magazine in stores and haven't found it yet. I'm just going to have to break down and subscribe.
