I have my dehydrator finally! I was gifted one by a wonderful woman who recieved one as a gift and didn't want it. I am makin some cantaloupe candy for my girls on wednesday. I will be pickin up some melons tuesday night, but I already have tomatoes in the dehydrator since I didn't have enough to can and we won't be home much the next 2 days. I don't want them to go bad, so I'm dryin them!

I think you probably could dry it in an oven- the food dehydrator directions say thet fruit is dry when it gets "leathery". If you dry it and put it in a plastic bag and moisture condenses inside the bag it needs to be dried a little longer.

So you dry it at 135 F in the oven?
How long in the oven?
This sounds like a great way to use up what doesn't get eaten
right away! THANKS!
