Posted - Jul 08 2010 : 07:33:21 AM Just finished up with this pretty jam, and it tastes yummy too. I am using up some of my no sugar pectin. Like this so I can really cut back on the sugar. Here is a link to my blog with photos and recipe http://kathyinozarks.multiply.com/journal/item/2323/Blackberry-Mango_Jam_out_of_the_Canner_with_recipe new farmgirl here Kathy

Posted - Jul 10 2010 : 1:50:11 PM Yum! I just canned wild black raspberry jam for the first time ever. I can't believe how better it tastes than store brands.

Hi Alee, yes I am just now learning that the chillover is also for jams, so when I get my pectin used up I am definately going to try it, thank you

Posted - Jul 09 2010 : 08:20:47 AM Kathy- you should try using MaryJane's Chillover powder instead of the pectin. It would solve the "Stretchy" problem(?).

Posted - Jul 08 2010 : 09:22:42 AM Hi Kris, I started using more of the agave too, I really like it for baking-really cuts down the sugar

Posted - Jul 08 2010 : 08:58:07 AM Kathy, my hubby has diabetes too. We have to be careful with how much sugar he eats but it is hard to do. I tried making jelly using sucanot but it only turned to syrup. So had to go back to white sugar. I don't like using the sugar substitutes. They scare me. So just plain fruits sound good to me. Or with honey or agave honey.
Welcome to the forum too.
