Posted - Jun 21 2010 : 09:30:37 AM Okay.. I have several fig bushes in my backyard and in the past, my beagle helped herself along with bees, wasps, mice, birds and so forth which was fine with me. This year.. I am expanding on my farmgirl-ness! Any suggestions what to do with them? I am thinking along the lines of creating them for Christmas gifts... like I am doing with my abundance of yummy Violet Jelly.
Oh and simpler the better! hahaha! also the gifts will be shipped from Georgia to Washington
:o)

Posted - Jun 21 2010 : 2:50:05 PM You can send me some!!! I want some so bad. I want to make some strawberry fig preserves. And someone has a great recipe for a fig spread for soft cheese that looks so good. I couldn't find fresh figs so just bought a spread. But fresh would be SO much better. I was wondering when they would be coming in. I bought a little tiny plant a few months ago and it's already about a foot tall. But will be a few years before it produces.
