Hi ladies! I recently tried Stonyfield Farm Organic yogurt in the regular flavor, and I was less than satisfied. It was liquidy and sour. I don't know if it was just because it had gone bad or what, but I just wanted to see if this is the way it is supposed to be, or if it was just me. I don't want to swear it off quite yet, so I would love to hear what it is supposed to be like! Any input is welcome!

I'm sure it would take some of the bite out. Even with the Truvia you can taste it in the aftertaste, but it is not as sharp. Worth a try!

I also make my own, though I do like Stoneyfield when I don't have time. I like honey in mine to make it less tart. And sometimes I mix in whatever fruit we have on hand & some granola.

Ashley, do you think if I had added a little a little sugar it would have not had such a bite to it?

Stoneyfield is the only kind I use.
I started with the french vanilla but now I eat the fat free or low fat plain. Very good in smoothies or when you add your own fresh fruit. Trying to stay away from the animal fats so I tend toward the fat free. Looking to consume more of the healthy fats.

The yogurt I make at home is plain and it has a bite to it. For each yogurt I give the kids, I mix in 1 truvia and 2 drops of vanilla flavoring. If you have some left and you really don't like it, you might try the truvia and vanilla so it does not go to waste:)

Real yogurt does have a slightly sour taste. If you make it at home, it's going to taste that way too. All the yogurts that you find at your regular grocery store are chalked full of HFCS and artificial flavors. If you're used to that and then try real yogurt, it certainly takes some getting used to! :)
We eat the French Vanilla Whole Milk and it's delicious!

By regular I do mean plain. I think it also had something to do with the fact that it had been out of the fridge on a hot Wisconsin day for about four hours. It just tasted sour, and I wanted to see if it was just me.
Thanks for your input!

I had to ask at BiLo and another store to carry the whole milk. I hate low fat and no fat anything. And the 2 store that always carry it are Greenlife (which is now owned by Whole Foods) and Earthfare. But I have found it occasionally at regular grocery stores. Just ask if they can start stocking it for you. It's usally a case of "no room to put it". But maybe if you bought a whole case or know someone you could split one with, they might order it for you.

I've noticed that organic grocery stores/ co-ops etc will usually have the whole milk yogurt where regular groceries think everything has to be fat free

Julie, our Biggs (which has now gone out of business) was the only place I could get the whole milk French Vanilla. I'm currently badgering (quite literally) Kroger to carry more than vanilla, strawberry and the occasional raspberry or peach. No luck yet. I have to drive 40 minutes across the river to get Stonyfield choices!

I eat only stonyfield. The fat free versions always have a little liquid on the top, which stirs in nicely. The plain (which we use for cooking, and for smoothies and what have you) always tastes fresh to me--like the yogurt my friend makes in England from her dairy cows. I like Greek yogurt, too, but stonyfield's french vanilla with the cream on top is the best thing I've eaten in my entire life. And I love most, if not all their products. I have decided that I'll forego the "fat free" for the lower fat versions, simply as a matter of personal aesthetics.

What brand did you come from?

I love their French Vanilla whole milk yogurt. The kids do too. It has cream on the top that has to be stirred back in. It is a bit thinner. But I use it in fruit salads or smoothies. The grands eat it or even sometimes I'll put it in cups with straws and they drink it. Either way it's good.

I've tried the regular and low fat vanilla, I thought they both tasted good,
alittle tart. They were solid when I opened them, the large size, on later
days it seperated some, and I just stirred it or poured it off.

I do find their yogurt to be thinner than others. I prefer Greek Yogurt myself.

By regular do you mean plain?

I have always found all plain yogurt to be very sharp and bitter. I do know Stonyfield's yogurt is a bit thinner than some varieties out there and sometimes I have to stir some whey? back in but it's not too bad or sometimes I just pour the extra liquid off.
