Posted - Jun 06 2010 : 2:50:32 PM I searched and I can't find the original thread...someone asked if there was an organic alternative to "cream of ----soups, for example, cream of chicken, cream of mushroom. I love "old-fashioned" homestyle recipes and many of them call for these types of soups. Since we are eating organic and chemical free, that was somethin I am searching for...today I found both soups and organic cream of celery at Whole Foods in the soup section! The cans were marked "New!" Hope this helps some of you, too.

Posted - Jun 06 2010 : 2:55:03 PM Nicole, I have cut up mushrooms, saute'd them in a little butter than combined it with a simple white sauce. It's worked well when substituted for cream of mushroom soup. I wonder is using some chicken broth with the milk and some kind of seasoning would work for cream of chicken? Susan
