The first wave of blackberries came on beginning of this past week. There are so many that I run out of time and steam!

I can pick 5 pounds in about 45 minutes.

Best part is, they are in a field of our neighbor's who, out of the graciousness of his heart, bushogged the field all around and low enough so you can really see the bushes and walk to them practically in sandals. Of course, I'm still donning the requisite double layer of clothing to protect myself from chiggers and ticks. So naturally, all this week temps have been in the low 90's with about 60% humidity. I love it

Have been getting several requests for pies and cobblers. And of course, this bounty will hopefully replenish my berry stock for jelly to sell later on this fal.

I'm dying to try and make a tri-berry pie later on too that will include some of these wild beauties, some of my raspberries, and blueberries. Ought to be good!

Anybody else get th picking fever when their berries come along?

I was just at Firemama's house for dinner last night and she made the homemade icecream from the latest issue of MJF with blackberries - oh my goodness, it was fabulous and beautiful!!

The farmers market just had the first blackberries of the season on Wednesday! I only bought a small container but plan to get some more next week when the peaches start coming. I LOVE peach and blackberry cobbler!

Blackberries are one of my favorites!
Ours haven't ripened just yet but I can't wait.
A tri-berry pie sounds scruptious. I will have to try that this year.
