Hey Farmgirls!
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and about a year ago I decided to try a gluten free diet to see if it would improve my symptoms and help control pain. I feel much better, but I could really use some new recipes. If any of you deal with wheat allergies or gluten free living, I would love some new ideas!
Love and light to you all~
Kate

We are GF (for the most part). We do a lot of smothies (we try to get a lot of raw foods into our diet) and come up with new salads all the time (mexican salad: grens, salsa, gucamole, corn, cheese ... chinese salad: mandrian oranges, greens, almonds, Paul Newman's Ginger dressing ... etc.).

Also, for those times we just HAVE to have a breadlike product (like pizza or muffins) we use a WONDERFUL product by NAMASTE FOODS. They are the BEST on the market (and believe me, we have tried most everything). What is nice, is Namaste is also free of corn, potato, casien and other common allergens. If you can have casien, PAMELA'S makes a wonderful gluten free pancake mix.

Also, MaryJanes Falafel mix is gluten free. I have MISSED Falafel's!! I can hardly wait for my order to come in!! Now if only MJ would make some GF bakeover mixes!! *hint hint*

You may want to try other grains like Kamut, Triticale or Spelt.

Rye has a small amount of gluten.

And Quinoa is gluten-free.

There is a great book out there that uses beans or bean flour in most if not all her recipes. There is a section on gluten and wheat free dieting. The cookbook is called "Country Beans" by Rita Bingham.

Kate, I don't have any good recipes, but I DO know that there are some great resources on the web. Have you tried "Googling" gluten-free?

When you say gluten-free, does that include things like wheat bran, oats, etc. or not? I am not well-acquainted with it, so I'm not sure.

XOXO, Libbie
