Has anyone made the cupcakes inside ice cream cones? I wanted to try these for a bake sale on the 4th of July. I remember trying these years ago and being a big mess, but I think I may have filled them too high. Also, looking for some kind of frosting that would harden so it wouldn't be a mess in the heat. I also saw on Semi Homemade, she took cones and put candy in the bottom, then put cupcakes in the top of the cone (already made ones), and frosted, but I can never get the cupcakes out of the paper cups right. They stick. Any ideas?

I always wondered how to bake them without they toppling over. Thanks for that link..

Here is the simple recipe for the regular type.

I used to make loads and loads of these for my kids' birthdays and their classmates. I do not recall it being a mess or difficult. I recall loving to do it for them. Always a hit with the kids.. and adults too.
