I am wanting to stock up on regular and wide mouth canning lids/flats. Where is the cheapest place or store to buy individually or bulk lids? |

Hi - I usually get mine at a Family Dollar or Dollar General, but they run out fast. I pay $1 or $1.50 for a box of 12. I also use a lot and would love to find them in bulk. I just joined a co-op and think I will check with them. |

I have bought rings and lids at FREDS they were $2 a box of 12

May I also suggest auctions? If you like that sort of thing, you can find jars and rings and lids a VERY reasonable prices. Especially if no one is bidding against you! Good luck.

Sad to say - WalMart. even our local hardware gut sells them for too much. This is where I find the cheapest liquid pectin too.
Keep checking thrift stores and garage sales too |

You can find large amounts on ebay if you aren't picky about the colors. I found blue and yellow checkered ones there for half the store price!

Yep, Ace Hardware is where I get most of mine. They had the pretty colorful ones there. I save all my rings so don't need to buy those. I always take them off when they have sealed so they won't get rusted on. Does anyone else do that?

I buy mine at Wal-Mart or there's a grocery store here called Save-A-Lot that has them,too. I also buy their brand of sure-gel. You have to boil it for 1 min more but that-s okay. I buy my jars wherever I can. Flea markets or yard sales, etc. Every year I make a lot of jams and relishes, pickles, etc. and give a lot away. I ask close friens to save the jars for me, but I don't get many back so every year I'm buying dozens of new jars, but not this year. I've quit giving away my jars unless I really want to and quit expecting them back. I'm going to slow up canning, two people can only eat so much. I say this every year and just can't let berries, etc. go to waste.lol |

I usually get mine where ever I find a sale. Used to buy them in bulk through a friend in Calif..when we moved here I lost that "connection". I hope someone has a great source. I use alot of them!!!

So far Walmart and one of the local hardware stores have been the cheapest around here. I know you can order them online also. That may be a good place to price shop. =)

I don't know!!! I always do look for them in the thrift store in unopened boxes. I got a bunch for cheap at the Grocery Outlet but it was a one time thing.
Hope someone else has a better idea.
