Posted - May 07 2010 : 08:58:53 AM I am wanting to make an apple pie with the canned filling I made last fall. But all the recipes just say flour for the crust. Is that all purpose or self rising? Help please!

Posted - May 07 2010 : 7:10:13 PM Yes. And it looks really flaky and moist. I had to cook the apple pie filling on low with a lid to get the apples cooked. Last time I made a pie with my canned apples they were not cooked through. I like a soft apple pie. So these are soft and I had to add a little more flour to thicken it up. We will see tomorrow if it's any good. But the crust looks good!

Posted - May 07 2010 : 09:09:28 AM I am using lard. Thank you all so much. It just confuses me when they don't say. But then I remember someone saying if they don't specify then it's all purpose. So here I go. Thanks so much!
