Just don't get it on cats - they absorb essential oils through their skin and their systems can't handle it. EOs can kill cats!

Thank you Debra. I am soooo happy you posted this recipe. I tried a couple homemade ones that didn't work so good on them. My little guys were bothered bad last summer in Maine. We are going to be up there on the 22nd and I will be prepared with this! They both had on caps with bug netting (they looked so cute)every time we went outdoors but they still got bit up.

Oh! Sherry thank you for sharing about the flies. I think I'm going to try that out in my goat barn.
Thanks.

Hi Sherry,
Go by the recipe! There is no water added. Ya I would use small spray bottle, and you can spray on you or clothes. Also my friend said you can put it on your animals. That sounds great. Something that wont hurt you or animals.

debra no water?? just the almond oil. should i use a small spray bottle. wondering about goats and cows and flies? maybe this would work for their heads.i saw another idea through a email from my friend in arizona. she has tried this and it worked. thought i would share. flies have many many eyes. when you put water and a few pennies in a sanwich bag or gallon bag. the flies are confused by the refracting light in the bag. the pennies make it seem more real. they will not go there. they see it as a predater wanting to eat them. my dil saw this on the door ways to a fish place. all windows and doors were open. no flies came past the bags hanging in the doors and windows. she said not one. but they were outside.might work for a milk room. just a thought sherrye. i am going to try it.

Debra,
Do you spray this on your skin? clothes? or just in the air? How often? Do you think this will work for dogs? The flies are eating their ears already :-( And I think this year is going to be a BAD year for mosquitos.
