LOL...the last thing I need is more encouragement for my cat to sleep with me! My cats were both abandoned strays and both around 14 years old now. The girl was removed from her mommy too soon and she STILL tries to nurse on my neck under my hair and then falls asleep there! If the my male cat were to join her at the head of the bed it'd be one UGLY showdown!
My catnip was planted in a little clump in one corner of my garden. Thanks to his rolling furiously in THAT patch and wandering the yard I now have little clumps along the outsides of lots of my beds where he rubs his neck and back against the brick borders. Was a great way to teach my son about how plants spread their seeds!

Catnip works in a dream pillow too. . . helps one to fall asleep. Kitty will love sleeping with you!

I don't know about keeping rabbits away, but it sure does draw the "stray cats" to your garden! I planted some in an herb bed (which I promptly redesigned and rethought) and had "smashed" herbs from the neighborhood feral cats getting high and rolling all over my plants!!

Wow! I'm so excited I went foraging on our 6 acres. I found wild growing spearmint too! I'm drying some for teas. YUM! I feel like a real farmgirl now!

Man, I wish I would have known that catnip was in gripe water! My, now 3 and half year DS, had HORRIBLE colic for most of his first year. It was torturous for all of us. I have lots of catnip and we use it for tea in the evening...didn't realize it was had a sedative properties. Score one for us!

It has natural seditive properties and is a nervine (soothes & nourishes nerves) And like Jonni said it's great for upset stomachs and colic, especially with fennel seed.

tea--for tummy aches. It's in the "gripe water" elixir that we used for my daughter when she was colicky. It's a great medicinal.
