I just got the new recipe of the month from MJF and it's dandelion pasta. I just went out and picked the leaves (and some flowers for tea) to get started. Boy, I need glasses bad. I thought it said 2 cups of leaves, washed and steamed. So i steamed them them came back to read the recipe again and it says to STEM them! Oh well. Not too much damage.

Anyway, I am wondering now if I can use whole wheat flour? I will make it with white the first time but would like to try it with the wheat flour too. So if anyone's made this please let me know.

It looks so pretty and green and so healthy! I can't wait to try it. I am going to make a lamb and sausage sauce to go on top.

I have everyone above added to the Weekly email that was having issues. You can also adjust which lists you receive 2 different ways. From our homepage www.maryjanesfarm.org there is a window to "Join our email lists" below the picture of MJ wearing a red had and cherry apron. Enter your email address there. If you are already receiving emails (Blog alerts, Cluck, etc...) it will show you this message:

Update Your MaryJanesFarm Profile

You are seeing this message for one of the following reasons:

1. You are a current member of the mailing list for MaryJanesFarm and would like to update your profile.

or

2. You are a previous member of the mailing list for MaryJanesFarm and would like to re-subscribe to this list - Welcome back!

Please click the Submit button and instructions will be emailed to you.

Go ahead and Click submit and you will be emailed a link to sign up for any list you like. The other option is when you receive an email from us (Blog alert, Cluck, etc...) at the bottom of the email there is a button that says "Update Profile/Email Adress". If you click on that button it will take you to the same page to sign up for different lists.

Option #3 is to send me an email and I'll take care of it manually. :)

Thanks,

~Brian

I just googled how to make dandelion pasta and got this post. But there was another one with an interesting recipe I thought I'd try. So here it is if anyone is interested. And did anyone ever find the racipe for MJ's pasta yet? This is NOT her's.

2 cups dandelion greens
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 t salt

You can also use other greens in this recipe, it says. Like beet greens.

Blend greens and eggs in a blender til smooth.

Transfer to a bowl; add salt and start adding flour while beating with a spoon. ( I don't know why you couldn't use a food processer. I think I will.) Keep adding til dough is stiff.

Toss out onto floured surface and knead til smooth.

Roll out with a rolling pin to 1/8-1/4" thickness or thinner.

Allow to dry for an hour, then cut into strips. Or if you have a pasta machine, like I do, use that.

Drop into boiling water and cook 1-2 minutes.

Again, this is not MJ's recipe that I found in the newsletter. But it sounds alot like it. I think I cooked the greens first. This looks like they are not cooked in this recipe.

If anyone else has a recipe they'd like to share, please do. And if you make the pasta, please let me know what you think.

I did e-mail Brian. Thank you. Also, if there is a link for these projects/recipes on-line, can someone post it? I would really appreciate it.

I've made the dandelion coffee, and plan to make dandelion jelly. This recipe sounds interesting and tasty.

I'm not getting the "cluck" either.

I'm not sure what's going on.

if anyone is having delivery problems it might be due to your "do not mail" preferences or Brian might need to look at your account and make sure everything is set up properly. I would email him at brianogle@maryjanesfarm.org

I only get the Farmgirl Blog. I don't get The Cluck. I thought that you got it when you became a sister. Am I wrong? I really would like to get it . It sounds like it would be great.

I get it, I think you sign up for it on the home page where you sign up to see the blogs. You could always email the farm and ask to be emailed the recipe of the month.

I do get the cluck, but I don't get a recipe of the month. Unless it's in the cluck. Is it?

I don't know. I have been getting a recipe-project of the month from the farm for awhile now. I hope someone else know. You are a member so you should get it too. Do you get the "cluck" newsletter? Maybe you could email Carol.
