I went to a tag sale a week ago and brought 4 wonderful pie plates with a recipe in the middle. They were made by a company called Good Harvest. They are perfect for my kitchen. I don't know to use them or hang them on the wall! I have been thinking about starting a collection of them. Ah, for a simple piece of pie. |

If the plates are a pottery plate, then you put the plate in the oven with everything in it from the time you turn the oven on to preheat. This way the plate warms up slowly. Don't put in an already hot oven. I learned this from a pottery place on the coast. We bought my mother in law a beautiful hand thrown pie plate and it came with the instructions on how to bake a pie in it.
