Tonight I reached in the pantry for some of my canned green beans. I grabbed a jar from 2005. It must have been forgotten all these years. I opened it and tasted one and it seemed ok and they still looked good and green. But 4 1/2 years is a long time. When is the safe cutoff date for home canned goods? How long do ya'll keep your canned foods?

Kris

The Ball book has time frames but I forgot to date the first couple of years so I know I have had some older stuff. If it is popped of course don't use it. but I use it if it is still sealed.
