I'm going to try the bread today. Can't wait - I've got some butter just itching to melt on it. :-)

well i made the muffins. even though i had my grill too hot and let them rise too long still great. once i got the really low temp. so could sit on grill that long it worked. they are so good. we had them with buttercups butter and pork gravy from pork roast. yum then we had butter and honey on hot off the grill. hence we let those sit and rise while we ate. that way they were warm to eat. my tops got dry in rise. any thoughts?i like more bubbles may add yeast. used 1 cup organic whole wheat and 5 cups whole white organic bread flour. today the marmalade sherrye

Bea, my mom used to make this fantastic English Muffin bread. I'll see if I can get her to post the recipe on here.

Oh I know...! My recipe makes two loaves, and from start to finish it takes about an hour (or a little less) to have it on the table ready to eat!
It's a staple in our home!
P.S. It makes the BEST grilled cheese sammy's!

Hannah, I've tried that english muffin bread, too! I love it because it takes the work out of english muffins... just mix and put in bread pan! so easy and delicious!

English Muffins
This is a old family recipe. Decided to finally use it.
1 cup milk
2TBSP. sugar
1TBSP. yeast 1 cup warm water
1/4 cup melted butter
6 cups flour I used 3 cups whole wheat and 3 cups all-purpose
1 tsp. salt
Warm milk in a small saucepan until it bubbles, Then remove from heat. Mix in the sugar until it dissolves. Cool until lukewarm.
In a small bowl disslove the yeast in the warm water. Let stand until creamy. About 10 min. In a large bowl, combine the milk, yeast mixture and the melted butter and 3 cups of flour to make a soft dough. Add the rest of the flour and the salt. Knead and let rise until double. Punch down and roll out on a floured board. Cut 2 1/2 inch rounds using a biscuit cutter. Place cut rounds on wax paper
sprinkled with cornmeal and let rise. Sprinkle tops with cornmeal. Heat and grease a griddle. Cook rounds for ten minutes on each side. Cool and place in storage bags.

Where did you find the recipe? DH loves them but all of the ones in our local grocery have a bunch of chemicals.
