I was just given 4 loaves of stale French bread for the chickens, but I was thinking of making batches of bread crumbs for gifts. I always make my own but I'm looking for a fancy recipe. I usually just add Italian seasoning to my bread crumbs. Does anyone have a special bread crumb recipe they would like to share? What do you think of this idea? I love any thing home made, and this would be a little unusual! Thank you, Carol
I still have fresh rosemary in the garden, I could start with that.

Forget buns of steel, I'd rather have buns of cinnamon!

I keep mine plain, too-
but I do love how nicely they grind in the blender!
Just like a kid!

Carol, I usually make croutons, season with dry buttermilk powder and make my own ranch spice mix.
Homemade dry Buttermilk Ranch Mix:
One can buttermilk powder
2.5 TBSP. Onion powder
2 TBSP. Garlic powder
2 TBSP. Dried red and green bell pepper
Mix together. Coat the bread cubes. I usually do this just like tha Chex mix but use olive oil instead of butter and bake in a 350 degree oven until dried.

I usually leave mine plain but add spices when I get ready to use them. Sometimes I would rather have plain ones so I don't like to season in advance.
