Does anyone order buffalo meat? Im thinking of buying some to stock our freezer. Do any farmgirls order meat this way? Where do you get it from and how has it worked out for you? Any favorite recipes?

I know many people hate Walmart. But I buy bison at walmart. We love it. It reminds me of the beef my gramma used to raise. Probably just grass fed beef at the time. So if you are wanting to just try some to see if you like it, check at your local walmart and see if the carry it.

The "Antelope Valley Winery" family also raise bison here not all that far from me in Leona Valley. They sell meat at the winery store, along with other specialty items. I tried it once, very good flavor, but on the dry side, as well as expensive. Not something I would get into, or attempt to raise myself, my home raised beef is more than enough for me.

I just love it too. It is just a little dryer than beef but so much better for you.

we recently ordered a quarter of a buffalo and we love it!! Prefer it over beef. we are fortunate enough to have a rancher friend who sells grass fed beef and buffalo and he only lives about 30 miles from us. I think you'll love it.

I love buffalo too. WE have only had it a couple times..when my dad went hunting and brought us a box full another time when a friend brought us some too. I use it just like beef...really tasty stuff! I wish I could find a source here closeby.

I love buffalo too. I buy it at Whole Foods grocery store. The ground buffalo is very lean so I add olive oil to it.

I love it too. So much better than beef you buy in the store. We have a farm nearby that we buy from.

That's all we use for chili and so on...I buy it @ a local Vitamins Plus, can't think of the brand name right now, but it has a wonderful flavor!

I eat buffalo meat too. It is available at our grocery store and there is a ranch not too far from us. It is so good for you and way lower in in fatty stuff. MB

I love Buffalo and have been eating and serving it for 15 years. I have an organic ranch just up the way from me and so I purchase meat and also trade spinning the buffalo fiber for meat also. I use it like you would beef just remember that it will require a bit more cooking time and a bit more seasonings. Since the Buffalo I purchase is only grass fed the meat is wonderful. I never eat any animal that is raised or finished on corn and grains.....

Also the ranch only sales meat from animals that are under 18 to 20 months old... Very tender and much better for you health wise. Good luck and happy eating.
