I don't know what it is about Fall (actually it's been more like winter) weather that makes me want to fire up the stove...

This morning Hubby woke up cold, even though he was under thick blankets all night. We were both cold. All three of us bundled up for the day but I kept thinking "Soup" all morning. What we need is a nice hearty soup.

This weekend Doug made a nice hearty bean soup and even though we had it so recently, I decided to go ahead and make another one. So it's simmering away in the crock pot and we'll have nice hot soup and biscuits for dinner tonight! Yummy.

Nora and I also had a nice hot lunch of spaghetti. I guess I as in the cooking mood today!

i am with you alee, cold weather really makes me want to cook and usually my thoughts turn to shrimp gumbo, cause i am a gulf coast gal. my mom made fantastic crab gumbo and it would have to be our number one comfort food in my childhood family, but i really dont know how to cook it and my mom didnt make it from a recipe.
so when it gets cold i am ready to start makin a roux and get out the gumbo pot. or maybe some home made bread, mmmmmn now that smells gooooood!
