Has anyone ever had success with the Lemon Jelly recipe from the Preserving the Harvest book? I'm trying it now, and I'm worried because the recipe has no added pectin, and I saw an earlier post where someone had trouble with their pectin lemon jelly setting up...even if it doesn't set up, I'll be happy with Lemon Syrup!

Sorry the jelly didn't set Heather. However I am thinking that the Lemon Syrup would be decadent drizzled atop a cheescake with fresh raspberries :)

An update on the lemon jelly-

I made it, and it was sort of a pain (a LOT of lemons to juice and zest), and in the end the jelly didn't set up. I even boiled it until it reached 220º (with a thermometer). So, I guess I have lemon syrup! It tastes REALLY good though (like slightly tart lemonade), I tasted it before I canned it. This was the first time I ever tried making jelly the slow cook way (no pectin). I thought about trying to redo the recipe and add pectin, but I didn't know how much I could add or how to do it. I couldn't find anything online about it. So my french toast and cakes will be dripping with lemon syrup for the near future!

It sounds good. Hope it works for you. I had lemon marmilade recently and it was real good.
