Posted - Aug 09 2009 : 11:38:28 AM Well here I go again. My husband says I go from one thing to another. I made breakfast sausage links today, using a store-bought "ho-made sausage". Does anyone have good sausage recipes, or do you know of website that offers free recipes? I had a lot of fun doing it and would love to make different kinds of sausages. I purchased my "stuffer" last year during deer season, but could not find a source for casings. Well, I have found a local source and am ready to stuff just about anything.
Here's another poser - has anyone stuffed shredded vegetables into the casings? I was thinking of zucchini. It would be a great way to deep-fry it, if the casings can be deep-fried. I wonder if they could be battered prior to frying. What do you think? Am I complete off-base? |

Posted - Aug 09 2009 : 11:47:15 AM Hi Shirley, I've been making our own sausage for quite awhile now...started with game and the last few years we've added the trim and fat from our 4-H hogs. I'd be happy to share some of my recipes if you'd like, just sent me a private email.
