We're having cheesy ham and broccoli soup, fresh bread, fridge pickles, cottage cheese and chocolate zucchini bread for dessert. I love walking out to the garden and planning my meals. I know what you're thinking, "Soup in July!". But we are having the coldest July on record. Going on 19 days of below 80 degrees.

I love 5 Guys Burgers and their fries are the best! Last night we went to Cracker Barrel for their Friday Fish Fry. Mmmm, cod, steak fries and coleslaw. It was so yummy. Then we stopped at a local creamery for an ice cream cone, black raspberry, I forgot how wonderful they were. This morning, hubby surprised me by taking me back to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Blueberry pancakes and a huge mug of coffee. I'm a very happy girl! I sure am gonna miss having Cracker Barrel a mile down the road after we move...

I have some organic buffalo in the freezer...post that meatloaf recipe! And...how does that buff spin for you? Do you add something else to it? I have a lovely little drop spindle but have not really taken the time to really get to know it well. Maybe this winter.

Those hamburgers and fries sound wonderful - I have not had a hamburger for about a year - wished there was a great place like yours around here.

T - you are always welcome and you bet I would make those pancakes again for you. Saturday is Belgin Waffles with fresh fruit. It is up to the Farmers Market to see what next weeks menu might be. Leftovers - well lunch today was a Monte Cristo Sandwich from a sprial cut ham I baked about a month ago (slices packaged for single servings so I can take out what I want) the jelly is from a friend of mine who I traded for some yarn I spun. I had sliced fresh peaches with a dab of homemade greek yogurt for my afternoon snack.

I sure hope I can get some green tomatoes tomorrow found a couple of recipes I would love to try - maybe some Eggplant too!! Oh no, my mind is racing. I am defrosting some Organic Ground Buffalo from my neighbors herd - I spin some of their fiber for a great deal of the meat. Thinking of a Buffalo Meatloaf with Chessy Potato Bake with a Cucumber salad for Sunday dinner. What's on the menu at your house?

They just put a five guys around where I live. I agree, their burgers are amazing and I could not believe how many fries they gave us.

I have a giant pot of spagetti sauce in the crock pot. I am making it so I can can a jar of it to enter in the county fair. I usually freeze my spag sauce but this time I'll can one pint. So, We'll have spagetti for supper. I make my meat balls up in batches 3-4 lb of Hamburger at a time. So I'll get a handful out of the freezer. Then we'll have tomatoes and something. I have a recipe for a corn salad that uses fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. I need to make it but need to have company to help eat it. Ole Ron don't care for it. I may make it and then hope for a grandkid to come by. We just finished up a banana cake so we will be off deserts for a few days.

Tonight we're going "out"... actually we're going to a little burger joint down the street called Five Guys Burgers & Fries. They have THE BEST burgers and fries around... I like that they have a white board up front telling you where the potatoes came from that day. It's almost always in Idaho of course, but the cities change regularly.

They also keep big boxes of peanuts-still-in-the-shell up front for you to munch on while the burgers are cooking. Yum!

From my house to yours it's about 18 1/2 hours straight. So if I left in the next hour, I could be there for breakfast! Could you repeat the hotcakes, eggs, and syrup again? Also.... what "leftovers" are still lurking about for lunch? LOL!!! Your meals sound fantastic (and I'm sure worth the drive....) :-)

Oh! Grace that sounds so wonderful!!! Especially after the so called "Mexican" I had last night!

I'm excited because tonight for dinner, is Zamarelli's Pizza, in Grove City, Ohio (we're heading up "home" to see relatives). A large pepperoni with a pint of salad (and their homemade oil and vinegar dressing). This pizza place hasn't changed since it opened in 1963. Superfabuloso!!!!!!!

Hi Cari

The recipe for the Dandelion Syrup is on my blogsite and the pancake recipe is simple. I take just a regular recipe for pancakes whatever is one you make all the time and for the flour I substitute half of the flour amount for finely ground nuts ( be they Hazelnuts, Cashews, Almonds or whatever you like) and work your recipe as usual. I found for my altitude that works but you might have to play a bit. I never really follow too many recipes - just play with your food.

I had my pancakes this morning with also two of my new Black Star hen eggs. Small Brown Eggs still warm from the coop - what a morning it is..

Tonight I have Mexican - Lime Grilled Pulled Chicken Enchilldas with Black Bean and Corn Salsa. I will have a side dish of Spiced Rice and for the ending - Frozen Watermellon Ice. I also hope to make since it is Friday my Honey and Milk Carmel Popcorn. I must admit I love popcorn and this is a special treat I make and all the folks love it who stop in - so I always have a big batch made but ran out last week so with the weekend upon us it is popcorn time...

We had stew last night so you're not the only one thinking of cooler weather foods in the summer! Tonght though it was pork chops, baked potatoes and broccoli. :)

Oh I love Soup no matter what the time of the year. Potatoe Soup is one of my fav's - O.K. just about any soup is my fav.

I also have in the oven because of the cool weather, Beef Tips in rich gravy. I have in the crock pot Sweet and Sour Chicken. In the Bread Machine I am making Pinon Nut with Cinnamon bread. The nuts come from my tree that graces the front deck. For breakfast I have ground Hazel nut and wild Blueberry Pancakes with my homemade Dandelion Syrup. I love cooking but only when the weather is cool.

Come on over - there is plenty to be had.

Tonight I'm making homemade potato soup. I know, another soup in July. :) But it's an old depression-era recipe that's been handed down through the family (so it's cheap!), and the DH loves it and has been asking for it for a while now.

Today I awoke to a tiny bit of snowflakes and the temp will be in the high 60's - great weather in my eyes but even for Colorado this is cold.

Tonight I have prepared Herb Stuffed Pork Roast, Twice Baked Potatoes, Bib Lettuce Salad with Heirlom Tomatoe slices. Ginger and Mint Ice Tea (Mint from my Garden). To finish the meal I am having SourCream Anglefood Cake with fresh blueberries and raspberries topped with sweet fresh whipcream.

I hope to bake some cookies tonight while the weather is cool - soon I am sure we will be back to the hot weather and so I no fresh baked goodies for me.
