Posted - Jul 21 2009 : 07:45:11 AM Has anybody microwaved corn on the cob? Well, a Farmer (of all people) told us to cut off each end of the cob, take off all but 3 or 4 layers of the husk, put 1 cob in the microwave at a time for 2 minutes and that is it!
This is the best corn on the cob we have ever eaten. And done perfectly every time. I know...I am traditional and old fashioned as anyone here, but this Farmer is too and this recipe came from him! Try it!!!

Posted - Jul 22 2009 : 03:21:27 AM For 1 or 2 servings here's what we do:
Strip the husks and silks off
Wet the cobs
Take 2 paper towles still connected and wet these.
Wrap the cobs loosly in these
Nuke for 2-3 minutes

Posted - Jul 21 2009 : 4:52:54 PM Belle...I cut both ends about an inch in, so that removes the end silk. Amazingly there are hardly any strands of silk left on the cob. Then I keep the husks for my Cornhusk dollies that I make for Fall.

Posted - Jul 21 2009 : 09:45:17 AM I guess we all do it differently yet the same. I wash an ear of corn and put it on a plate and mic it for 3 minutes. The little water left from the washing is just right. YUMMY!!

Posted - Jul 21 2009 : 09:42:56 AM I have a microwave corn thingie that holds 2 ears of corn. You add a tablespoon of water and microwave for 4 min. Really good. Next time I have fresh corn, I'll try your way. What do you do about the silks? Do they remove easily when you take off the remaining husk??
