Last week in my CSA box I got some garlic scapes, so I thought I'd try the "Garlic Scape Pesto" in MaryJane's book. Got it all mixed up, and boy...is it ever strong! Yesterday, got more garlic scapes. I was wondering if anybody else had tried this before, or if anyone has an idea how to dial it back a notch or two? It's still good...just REALLY strong.

Wow. I didn't know that is what a "scape" was. All this time I have been tossing it out. No more- I am tempted though to add a little chopped basil........Mmmmmmm I love PESTO!

Jessie,
Heat depends on the variety of garlic. Red Gourmet or German Red produce very mild garlic scapes. You might try adding some basil.
