We were given a quarter of a hog last fall and I have a few packages in the freezer that were labeled "sliced fresh side pork" by the butcher. How should I use this? I am not really even sure what it is. I am assuming it is a cut similar to bacon, but not cured? Anyone know? Should I fry it like I would bacon, or add it to beans for flavoring? The package is rectangular and about the size of a pound of bacon that hasn't been sliced. |
