Well, I went out and picked up my first CSA box yesterday, and now I've got some goodies to eat this week! This week's box had:
*A head of romaine lettuce
*A bunch of kale
*A bunch of radishes
*A bunch of beet greens
*A bag of mixed salad greens
*A handful of dried hot peppers from last year's harvest
Hooray, hooray, for the CSA!

My box this week had butter lettuce, salad greens, bok choy and spring onion...and maybe some radishes...or perhaps those were last week. They made a great salad with red apple and miso mayonnaise.

Marly - CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture - and in most cases, you buy a "share" of the farm. You pay a seasonal fee or yearly fee to the farmer and in exchange you get a box per week (or however often you agree on) of yummy, fresh-from-the-farm produce. Some CSA's just have veggies, some have fruits, veggies and herbs, and some even throw in a bouquet of fresh flowers every box. It's a great way to eat healthfully and locally, while supporting local agriculture.

I get fruit and veggies in my farm box. I love it. I posted a picture of my first box I was so excited. They deliver too. And they are very local. And the very best spinach I have ever eaten. MORE!! MORE!!

I am so glad you are so happy. MB

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what is a CSA box? Sounds yummy to me.
