In the June 2009 issue of Self magazine under the eat-right flash section is an item of great importance:

"Watch what you eat. The new documentary Food, Inc. (out June 12) may make you rethink what's in your grocery cart. It unveils the questionable operations of some major American food companies. After learning how these practices affect our planet and health (70,000 get sick with E. coli each year), you'll be hungry for change. Go to www.takepart.com/foodinc for more info."

Kudos to such a mainstream mag for bringing awareness to an issue we farmgirls feel so strongly about! Knowledge is power and here's to hoping even more women, in all walks of life, will take a stand against unhealthy food practices.

(By-the-by, I would rather have been reading the June/July issue of MJF instead of Self only I still haven't received it!)
