Cupcakes for Cub Scout meeting

Birthday Cake for DS' 10th birthday on Sunday

Link to cake (well, the inspiration for the cake anyway):
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sandra-lee/easter-bunny-cake-recipe/index.html

I used white cake mix with pudding and added 1 T coconut extract. I used the same cake recipe for the cupcakes. I did a crumb coat of white frosting, then a full coat of white frosting. The cake was sliced horizontally instead of vertically with white frosting in the middle. The red part was done with Cookie Icing (Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker Brand?) over the white frosting, and the black lines were made with that black frosting that comes in those cheez-whiz type spray cans. The "button" to open the "pokeball" is a white
m-n-m.

Everyone raved about the taste and texture of the cake, and the birthday boy was really pleased with how it turned out.

Have a blessed Easter!

I was very careful at removing the excess frosting around the base - glad I found out about putting the wax paper pieces around the base of a cake on a cake plate. Whew!
