Posted - Mar 04 2009 : 07:56:58 AM I LOVE sugar cream pie - sometimes called Hoosier pie or old-fashioned cream pie. I've tried using a Paula Deen recipe (Mae Dawson's Hoosier Cream Pie), but I can't get the middle of the pie to solidify! I've had to throw two or three attempts out because the middles are still completely liquid, but the crusts are all burnt up! Anybody have a good recipe, or can anyone offer some suggestions? I went to Amish country this weekend and had a slice, and now I'm Jonesing for more!

Posted - Mar 04 2009 : 08:06:30 AM i don't know about sugar cream pie but try the buttermilk pie. there is a recent thread on farm kitchen about it. it's creamy and sugary!cathy
