A few of you farmgirls requested the Buttermilk Pie recipe from some pictures I posted on my blog, so here goes! This is like a custard pie and is so dang good! The salty pie crust and sweet pie filling make this a big hit!

"Pat in a Pan" Pie Crust
(you can also use a frozen pie crust)
2 1/2 cups flour
2/3 cup oil
2 T milk
1 1/2 t salt

Mix together and "pat" into the pan and make a pretty edge. Set aside.

Pie Filling

Mix together until frothy:

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 melted butter - cool and drizzle in bowl
1 t vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
1t flour
4 eggs

Pour into pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or by tapping the side of the pie pan and center barely moves.

Make sure you take your first bite when it is still a little warm! Oh, so good!

Hugs,
Maryjane Lee

Thanks very much - I enjoyed your blog and I enjoyed the video of the lady making the pie, but hadn't sat down to copy it down from her yet. This will be a treat this week!
