Does anyone have a recipe for 7 layer bars/cookies that they would like to share. I lost my recipe that I had for about 25 years. I do remember that the first layer/crust was bake but was not gram cracker like so many recipes that I see now. It also had coconut, chocolate chips, and several other sweet things in it.

Thanks,

Tina

...sounds like the magic cookie bars?

oven 350 deg, 13x9 pan
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 14oz can sweetened, condensed milk
1 6oz pkg semi-sweet choc chips
1 1/2 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
Cut butter into pieces in pan, melt in oven and spread around evenly.
Sprinkle cracker crumbs over butter.
Pour milk over crumbs.
Layer remaing ingredients in order listed.
Press down gently.
Bake for 25 mins or until golden brown.
Cool. Cut into squares or bars.
.....hmm that's only 6 ingredients,tho..(this is the original recipe that my grandma used to make from the sweetened condensed milk can)... ok my tummy just growled...

Bonjour, Tina! Your recipe sounds good! Maybe someone will post the recipe you are searching for. This one was called "Magic Layer Bars" I think, and I will try from memory here; not sure if there really ARE seven layers, but here goes.

Melt stick of butter/margarine and blend with crushed graham crackers. Press down into pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk over all, sprinkle chocolate chips, sweetened grated coconut, and walnuts (or pecans). I press this down with a spatula, before baking at 350 for 25 minutes, or til top begins to get a golden look to it.
