Calling all bread experts...

Just wondered if there was a trick or standard method to converting regular bread recipes to bread machine recipes?

I see so many interesting recipes but don't knowhow to use them in my bread machine.

If I just use the dough mixing part do I have to convert at all?

Please educate me

Ditto to everything maerwert just said. Put the ingredients in just like she mentioned. Also I have read that when you put the dry ingredients in put them in evenly across the liquid getting a layer across the entire top of the liquid. Also use flour used for bread and the bread machine yeast......very important.

I second Mary.
In the King Arthur Flour cookbook that is exactly what they say, just make sure to put the ingredients in in the right order

Jenn,
I wouldn't think you would have to make any changes except the order which you put the ingredients into the bread pan. Usually it's liquid ingredients first and dry ingredients on top finishing with the yeast. I like to use bread machine yeast and bread flour. Just make sure you don't exceed your breadmakers content limit for the number of cups of flour and don't leave any perishable ingredients, i.e. eggs, milk, in the pan for an extended time before baking.
I prepared bread machine bread nearly everyday for lunches when my kids were in high school. Our favorites were potato bread and honey oatmeal bread. My husband loved the homemade bread sandwiches too! French bread became a friday night ritual in place of pizza. Yum! I think I'll get may machine out again.
