5 minute chocolate mug cake

4 Tablespoons flour
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil
3 Tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

add dry ingredients to mug, mix well..add the egg and mix well... pour the milk and oil and mix again...add choclate chips if using and vanilla extract and mix again...put mug in microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (may need adjusting) the cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed..allow to cool a little and tip out on plate if desired...this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous.

This is not my creation but sent to me from someone with a wicked sense of humor, enjoy, Debbie

Hello everyone,
I have tried this recipe and the gift idea too! Although I packaged the mix separated by a twistie with the nuts then another twistie and the chocolate chips. The ingredients were stuffed inside the mug and the whole works were packaged in a cellophane bag (like a corsage bag) and tied up with a ribbon. It looked so cute! Don't forget the recipe tucked inside too.
Has anyone tried adding a dash of salt to this recipe?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels decadent.

ok, i first made this a few months ago when a friend to all of us, blondie of vintage prims, sent me the recipe. I must say that watching it as it "baked" in the microwave was nothing short of revolting. The taste is wonderful but don't watch it as it cooks if you are of tender sensibilities. this makes an adorable gift. if you Go to the trift to get mugs, they are plentiful and cheap. print up the recipe and instructions, put the dry ingriedts in the well washed mug. wrap with cellophane & tie with ribbon & the recipe card. your friends will love you.

This looks mighty interesting. Just think of the possibilities. You could put the chips in the middle and have like the molten lava cakes. How about some caramels in the middle with choc chips. Hmmm...
