My grandmother used to make a salad thing that had pineapple, cherries, cream cheese? I don't remember what else was in it......does anyone have a recipe for anything that resembles this? I thought it would be fun to make it for christmas eve......

The recipe is most likely from the late 70's or very early 80's

Terri - that sounds familiar. Let me check my collection of church recipe books and get back to you. I know our minister's wife used to make one that had pineapple, whipped cream, mini-marshmallows and cheddar cheese, but yours sounds familiar too.

Terri,

I make a cherry salad during the holidays that might be similar.

Cherry Salad

1 can cherry pie filling
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 small container cool whip or similar
1 can pineapple tidbits (20 oz.)
about 1/2 cup pecan bits

Stir together the cherry pie filling, sweetened condensed milk, drain the pineapple tidbits and stir into the mix. Fold in the whipped topping and pecans. Put in fridge and chill for at least a couple of hours, overnight is even better.

This recipe is one my family loves and it's so easy! Hope this helps.
