or other "candied nuts" that I can make for a gift.

It seems to me that at some point in this forum (from a year or so ago) that someone kindly posted their lovely recipe for making cinnamon sugar spiced nuts (or something along those lines)...My husband loves pecans, and I would like to try to make some to put in his stocking (I got the little plastic cones from the craft store) and thought it would be a nice addition to his other sweets, and practical things, like socks. He always loves when something is homemade.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Georgia,
That is exactly the same recipie I use for my sugared pecans. They turn out delicious. I hate sticky messes so I usually put my wet ingredients in the bowl and get the pecans wet then put the sugar, salt & cinnamon in a large ziplock bag. dump the wet pecans into the ziplock bag, shake to get them coated then dump them onto the baking sheet in a single layer. I use parchment papper because the tray can be hard to clean if you don't soak it right away. I bake mine for 50 minutes at 250 stirring every 10 minutes. My oven runs hot and burnt nuts are gross. My dh is a very diciplined eater but he scarfs these up as fast as I can make them.

These are awsome. Everytime I make them people go crazy. The are super easy too!
Candied Pecans
1 egg white
1 Tablespoon Water
1 Cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 lb. Pecans Halves
Beat egg white and water until fluffy. Stir in Pecans toss to coat well. Mix Sugar, Cinnamon and Salt together and pour over pecan and egg white mixture. Spread pecans on a greaed cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour at 300 stirring well every 15 min. Cool and enjoy!
