You know you've been making too many cookies for too many years when...

I've had a taste for rhubarb lately, so got some out of the freezer and into the fridge to defrost. Didn't want the same old, same old, so looked up rhubarb on allrecipes.com. Mmmmm. Rhubarb cookies. Ooooohhhh! So as I look through the list of ingredients, I realize I've seen the recipe before. Where have I seen this? I asked myself many times, over and over again. It's chocolate chip cookies! Except no chocolate chips and 1 1/2 cups of diced rhubarb! Then, tonight, I looked up zucchini cookies. I have one zucchini left from our garden, and boy cookies just seem so good right now that things are getting really nippy. Same thing. Where? Where? Oatmeal cookies. Yep. I know. I didn't believe it either until I compared them line by line (I did this for both of them just to be sure I wasn't getting any crazier than I already am).

So I guess the moral of the story is, never underestimate what grows in your garden as a substitute ingredient in your favorite recipe!

I LOVE zucchini cookies! My mom made these when I was I was in elementary school one year. I had planted my own garden and the only thing that grew was gobs and gobs of zucchini. When I took the cookies to school, all the kids wanted some. They thought the green in the cookie was broken up M&M's! LOL

Zucchini cookies sound so good right now! How much zucchini do you add to the oatmeal recipe?
