Ok I followed the directions off the Old Bay website for a shrimp boil, even reducing the cooking time a bit and everything is still overcooked... yummy...but overcooked..like the potatoes are mushy and the sausage got stiff. HELP!!!!

Hey! I love a good Boil, but it isn't all that simple, despite what the recipe indicates for the very reason you note - the ingredients get soggy and/or tough.
A hint: the sausage is precooked anyway, so put it on the grill to warm it. Boil the corn and remove it. Keep the water churning, though.
Break the corn into pieces. Now dump the shrimp into the water - it'll be ready in minutes. Throw the corn back into the water, add the cut up sausage - just to warm.
Now, drain the whole shebang and dump it all into huge bowls.
Oh, my, it's too late to be writing about a dish I so enjoy!

Alee- never thought of that. I did adjust by about 5 minutes, just knowing cooking basics and how I cook. It was good anywho!!! YUMMY!!!

Heather- I would assume that elevation would play a part in that. Next time maybe reduce the time by 10 minutes and know their times are just guidelines?
