Cathy, chili powder is a combination of powders. The type of chili you use will determine how hot it will be. Ancho pepper would be mild, cayenne would be hot. Then there is cumin, Mexican oregano and S and P. There is also garlic and onion powder in some. I grow my own hot peppers and make chyenne hot pepper flakes but I buy my spices from www.penzeys.com.

No clue but I needed some for a recipe tonight and was all out. I mixed together cumin cause it smelled smokey and paprika cause it was red! It tasted okay but I don't think thats really anything like chili poweder!
