I've been running into them in the British fiction I've been reading lately. So I did some google searching, and they sound so intriquing. I love the idea of a monstrous cookstove that can heat the whole house. Sounds like a gas-burning woodstove. On the other hand, I'm getting the impression that (like a woodstove) they are not really meant for the kind of cooking most modern people do on a gas or electric stove. And while they seem to have at least two separate ovens at minimum, you have to get the four oven model before you get a bake oven (?!) For those of you who've spent time in the UK, have you ever used one of these stoves? Are they even available in other countries?
