Posted - Sep 01 2008 : 1:26:01 PM Hello, Does anyone have an easy shortbread cookie recipe? I have been looking for a simple recipe but it seems everyone wants to add something to the mix. I just want a plain shortbread cookie recipe. Thanks Deborah

Thanks, Cathy |

Posted - Sep 01 2008 : 2:21:13 PM This is my friend, Jeannine's recipe, and believe me, if it wasn't easy, she wouldn't make it! They are a nice little cookie -- not too sweet.
1 c. soft butter 1/2 c. sugar 2 C. flour cinnamon-sugar
Preheat oven to 350. Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add flour; mix thoroughly. Flour your hands and pat dough evenly into a 13x9 pan. Bake 30 to 40 minutes, until light brown. Take out of oven and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar and pierce all over with a fork. Cut into squares, diamonds, etc. while hot. (At the holidays, I make these and use colored sugar instead of the cinnamon-sugar.)
