Posted - Jul 27 2008 : 10:30:49 PM Ok ladies, I didn't quite know where to post this so I am putting it here since aprons are very useful in the kitchen. Today I went antiquing in the wonderful town of Snohomish (a town known for its antique stores) and I found some great vintage handmade aprons! They are in perfect condition and I love them so much!
I purchased 5 and they are just adorable! They are all half-aprons. I got two gingham with embroidery (one black and white with red embroidery and the other navy and white with white embroidery), one cute white one with farm house and trees on it, a purple pattern one and the last is light colored with embroidered chicks.
They are wonderful! I used the navy and white gingham tonight to cook dinner in. I made homemade mashed potatoes while my boyfriend grilled some steaks. It was great! I just wanted to share with all of you lovely ladies!
Have a great night!

Posted - Jul 28 2008 : 07:39:24 AM Yay Chelsey! I love aprons and use them daily. I do prefer bib aprons for wearing, but half aprons for decorating.

Posted - Jul 28 2008 : 07:34:30 AM Congrats on the aprons, Chelsey. This is the start of a great collection. Check out flea markets, yard sales and thrift shops for wooden clothes drying racks. The racks are perfect for displaying aprons as well as other vintage linens. Before you know it, you will have a rack full of cobbler, half and pinafore aprons --- each with a special memory of the day it came into your life. Mashed potatoes and grilled steak --- so good !!! Check out the under $5.00 each bargains of vintage potato mashers / ricers when on the look out for aprons. You will have another collection going in no time at all.
