Posted - Jul 24 2008 : 10:12:09 AM I recently pitted about 20 lb of cherries for pies. I used my potato peeler. It worked perfectly and only made one hole in the cherry.

Posted - Jul 24 2008 : 09:06:08 AM They have little metal pitters that are really pretty cheap (under like $7) and REALLY help! I was gifted with alot of cherries one year and it made a huge difference. It would be in the kitchen gadget section of any hardware store.

Posted - Jul 24 2008 : 07:29:21 AM I believe there are commercial cherry pitters out there, but I recently read that you can use a soda straw to pit them Insert the straw in the top of the cherry and push down.
