I just picked up a new cookbook from the library called Local Flavor by Deborah Madison. It is excellent. Lots of advice on cooking veggies from the farmer's market and other things too. And not real exotic. She uses mostly everyday items you have in the pantry or fridge.

May God bless those who love the soil,

Patsy

that sounds like a good one, I'll have to check out. I just picked up one calle Outstanding in the Field. the author travels around the country setting up big dinners on farm fields using the fresh produce of that day. The recipes are real food, nothing too exotic and are photographed beautifully and simple to prepare. I would love to do this on my little farm someday.

That sounds like a great one! I'll have to try to find it. I love farmers markets-I get a lot from my own garden, but the markets are a great place to get things that I don't have.

Sounds like a good read! On the Saturdays that I am not working (about every other), my husband and I frequent the local farmers market in Fredericksburg....oh I love fresh produce, etc. Especially when I know I'm supporting our local small businesses.

Thanks Patsy,
Jamie
