Posted - Jun 11 2008 : 12:25:21 PM Melanie, that's pretty much it. I followed the recipe from MJ's Magazine, the baking issue. Don't have time to post it all here, got finals, but wanted to pop in and let you know that it's yours if you want it.
Oh, and DO ABSOLUTELY spray the pan before baking, or they WILL stick, and then you'll need superwoman-like powers to remove them in one piece.

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 1:33:38 PM Hey Melanie, I have a post on my blog of a biscuit recipe. I made them around Valentines day and used a heart cookie cutter to cut them out. But the recipe is the one I use all the time and it gives step-by-step instructions and pictures. It will be in an older post so just look for it and if you have any questions let me know. The secret to the lightest biscuits is to handle the dough as little as possible when your kneading it. This is a simple but, delicious recipe.
Hugs, RoseMarie

Posted - Jun 08 2008 : 5:38:13 PM If you get some of MJ's Budget Mix, I've got a great recipe for you... though, if I weren't so lazy and pressed for time lately, I could just pull out my copy of Joy of Cooking, then tell you the alterations that I made.
Essentially, I made MJ's No-Fuss Biscuits with 1tsp. dried thyme, about 1.5 handfuls of fresh grated cheddar cheese, and 1 handful or less of chopped dried chives. I'm thinking of adding it to the Book Ideas forum.

Posted - Jun 06 2008 : 09:06:02 AM Are you a "measuring" baker or a "this looks good" baker? I could tell you how to make my gramma's southern buttermilk biscuits, but I don't have measurements. THey are the best ever. She taught me how to make them many years ago and it appears I am the only one left in the family who knows how!
