When cooking, keep your recipe cards off the counterop and in clear sight with a makeshift card holder: Place a fork in a glss or jelly jar .. then slide the card between the tines.! xo

Posted - Feb 08 2008 : 4:03:12 PM Gooseberry patch has some books that you can buy now with which you can write your own recipes in and have them in order I brought 2. I got them at JoAnn's with my cupon , These are a big help Also, I found some notebooks at Wall-mart they are about the size of a cookbook They also have the paper that fits the notebook. You can also use those to remeber important dates and things that happened. Pinkroses

Posted - Feb 06 2008 : 2:28:03 PM Great idea, Frannie. I'll have to remember that one. I always seem to misplace my recipe cards in the middle of the mixing because it's laying flat on the counter and gets covered by a container or towel and then I have to search for it.
I don't get the cards all messy though because I have laminated the ones I use the most with that laminating paper that you don't need a machine for. My well-used cookbooks on the other hand...

Posted - Feb 03 2008 : 04:11:36 AM That is a neat sounding idea, Frannie. I have a recipe card holder my ma and dad made. It is like a little rolling pin with a slit in it to hold the card. My ma has a fit cause my recipe books and cards are a mess with spots and stains. But I have no counter room. I need a bigger kitchen, or at least more counter area!!
